About Me

I am a member of the Meherrin Nation. I am excited and thankful to be included in this community forum. My wife's family has abundant ties to the Indians of North Florida. She has many relatives that still reside in the North Florida panhandle and southern Alabama. Her family names include Davis, Foster, Johnson, Slaughter, Gibson, Sweat and Perkins. Her 2nd greatgrandmother as well as her grandmother were born in Rapides Parrish, LA. Their progenitors were part of the wagons west group that came to Rapides Parrish from Scott Town and from those that followed the Spanish trail from South Carolina. My 4th greatgrandmother was Jane Francis Bass married to James William Nickens of Tennessee by way of Bertie County, NC. My purpose is to study, learn and connect.
